BATIBOUW 2024 with a focus on ecology!
The show has always strived to be visionary since its inception. For example, they cared about environmental issues during the 1970 oil crisis by creating an insulation space. They were also interested in solar panels in 2000 by creating a space for them. In 2023, they plan to present the goals pushed by the European Commission related to carbon neutrality by 2050.
The CEO of the company hosting Batibouw, Frédéric François, states that the exhibition has a role to play in the evolution of the construction sector. Indeed, this will allow the construction sector to reduce its waste production, energy consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions, he says.
To offer a sustainable exhibition next year, Batibouw will not install 30,000 square meters of carpet in the aisles. Instead, they will reuse signage, sort waste more carefully, and generate less plastic. Additionally, organizers will select exhibitors based on the sustainability of their products and services.
By shortening the duration of the exhibition, exhibitors will consume less electricity, heat, and travel. Batibouw organizers claim that this will have a positive impact on participants with more qualitative contacts. They state that this shortened length is in line with many other shows of similar size.
